Responsibilities

Lead and manage the AR team, including hiring, training, performance management and career development
Develops and maintains strong, long-lasting relationships with internal and external customers
Studies and develops policies and procedures for investigating, granting, and controlling credit, as well as collecting accounts due
Oversees the daily operations of billing, collections, cash application and credit management, including phone collections, posting of incoming cash, inputting sales and adjustment changes, and credits to accounts
Monitor aging reports and proactively manage delinquent accounts to minimize bad debt
Interfaces with departments such as IT, Customer Service, and Marketing to ensure effective interdepartmental communication and information sharing
Investigates the credit standing of potentially large accounts, chain, and distributor accounts through credit reports or financial statement audits
Approves special payment plans for slow-paying accounts as recommended by subordinate staff, consistent with policies
Accountable for the monthly KPIs performance and targets achievement, including monitoring team performance and identify areas for improvement
Determines credit amounts to be extended and recommends working capital necessary to finance accounts receivable and provide reserves against bad debts
Represents the company in customer bankruptcy actions
Supervises the adjustment of customer claims and directs specific adjustments based on staff recommendations and policy
Leads and/or participates in projects, tasks, and initiatives to support current and future business operations and strategies
Assists in training sales representatives on credit policies, practices, and resources for potential customer financial assistance
Finalizes audit reports for internal and external auditors for SOX compliance and financial audits
Support month, quarter and year end close process, including reconciliation and reporting
Prepares monthly cash forecast reports for the Americas and shares results with the Americas Finance leadership and Treasury
Ensures the department is PCI compliant
Recommends and drives continuous improvements, process automation and systems enhancements to improve AR process and reports capabilities

Required

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a business-related field, or equivalent experience
5+ years of credit and collection experience in a large company or equivalent experience
7+ years supervising or managing an accounts receivable/collections department or equivalent experience
Experience leading and managing projects
Experience working in a Shared Services Center business model
Familiarity with accounting and SOX environment
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Ability to digest complex information and communicate it logically and actionably to others
Strong organizational skills and the ability to lead and drive projects to completion
Ability to treat customers as partners, not just accounts
Proven leadership and people management experience
Ability to analyze financial statements and draw sound conclusions to determine credit lines
Knowledge of accounting, commercial law, bankruptcy laws, UCC filings, and PCI compliance
Ability to read and interpret credit reports
