Surgical Technologist Specialty Lead
Yale New Haven Health is committed to providing high-quality surgical care and is seeking a Surgical Technologist Specialty Lead to support the coordination of surgical specialties. This role involves mentoring surgical technologists, ensuring patient safety, and collaborating with the Operating Room team to enhance perioperative services.

Responsibilities
Role model YNHH Standards of Professional Behavior in all we do: Put patients and families first
Encourage and mentor surgical technologists with clinical competencies
Demonstrates knowledge and implements patient safety and quality improvements for the defined surgical specialty(s)
Serves as the primary surgeon interface for the designated surgical specialty(s)
Oversight of the OR throughput including first case start time and turn-around time
Qualification
Required
Graduation from an accredited School of Surgical Technology
Minimum 2 years Surgical Technician experience
Demonstrates strong interpersonal communication skills
Maintains a high level of customer service
Prioritizes needs of department and surgical specialty
Organizes operational efficiencies
Requires prolonged standing; walking; use of sight, hearing, and touch; moving/lifting of patients and instruments and equipment
Preferred
Associates or Bachelors Degree
Preferred Surgical Technology Certification or attained within one year of hire into role
