Civil Engineering Intern – Bridge (Summer 2026)

They are seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for their Transportation team, where the intern will support key projects and work closely with senior engineers while gaining professional and technical development.

Responsibilities

Bridge layout using Microstation and AutoCad and to perform day to day tasks
Bridge design and detailing, report writing and estimating, following the phase I-VI NYSDOT design process
Work closely with senior engineers
Occasional field visits and/or construction support
Utilize safe work practices in accordance with federal, state, local, and company standards
Communicate incidents, accidents, near misses, potential hazards, and unsafe working conditions to a supervisor or the Health and Safety Department as soon as identified

Qualification

AutoCADMicrostationStructural EngineeringAnalytical skillsProblem-solving skills

Required

Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on Structural Engineering, or another related field. Completion of sophomore year preferred
Knowledge of AutoCAD or other 3D modeling systems
Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills

Preferred

Previous internship experience or involvement in a related student association a plus
