JERA Americas is seeking a strategic and experienced General Manager, Application Engineering to lead the strategy, development, and delivery of all enterprise applications. This role is pivotal in driving business-aligned technology initiatives and ensuring robust, scalable, and innovative application solutions that support critical business functions including energy trading and SAP.

Responsibilities

Lead the strategy and execution of all IT application platforms across JERA Americas

Oversee application engineering for systems supporting:

Energy Trading & Risk Management (ETRM): Ensure platforms meet trading, compliance, and risk requirements

SAP Systems: Manage application delivery and integration across SAP modules

Enterprise Applications: Guide development and support of business-critical systems

Integration Services: Drive middleware and API strategies for seamless data flow across platforms

Collaborate with IT operations, enterprise architecture, and PMO to ensure cohesive execution of technology initiatives

Partner with business stakeholders to translate needs into scalable and secure application solutions

Coordinate with global teams, including JERA Tokyo, to align on standards, platforms, and shared initiatives

Promote agile development practices and continuous improvement across application teams

Ensure application reliability, performance, and compliance with internal and external standards

Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that enhance business capabilities

Maintain documentation, roadmaps, and architectural alignment for all application platforms

Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

Minimum 10 years of experience in IT application development and management

5+ years in a leadership role overseeing enterprise applications

Proven experience with ETRM systems and SAP platforms

Strong understanding of enterprise-wide application architecture and business processes

Preferred

Experience with cloud-based application development and integration

Experience with API architecture and middleware platforms

Familiarity with the energy industry and value chain
