Tax Commission Hearing Officer
The City of New York is seeking attorneys to serve as Tax Commission Hearing Officers within the Office of Administrative Tax Appeals. The role involves reviewing taxpayer claims, conducting hearings, and drafting written determinations regarding appeals for not-for-profit exemptions from real property taxes.

Draft written determinations granting or denying the appeal as directed by, and under delegation from, the Tax Commission President
Qualification
Required
Attorney admitted to practice in the State of New York for at least five (5) years
Experienced in using PC software, particularly Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel, and Microsoft Word
Admission to the New York State Bar
One year of satisfactory United States legal experience subsequent to admission to any state bar, or six months of satisfactory service as an Agency Attorney Interne (30086)
Members of the New York State Bar in good standing for the duration of this employment
Preferred
5 or more years of litigation experience
