Responsibilities
Welcoming pupils into class
Helping the class teacher prepare for lessons
Helping the class teacher monitor the progress of the pupils
Helping the class teacher prepare teaching aids
Assisting teachers distribute tests and assignments
Attending to the needs of the pupils
Helping teachers prepare the progress reports of the students
Helping the teachers maintain the records of the students
Assisting teachers in recording student attendance
Organizing games and other extracurricular activities
Supervising pupils while in the cafeteria or during field trips
Helping teachers in grading tests and exams
Collecting payments for class trips
Set up and operate audio-visual equipment
Answer non-instructional questions about seatwork
Assist children engaged in seatwork activities while the teacher instructs a small group
Assist with after-school activities, clubs, interest groups, assembly programs, special exhibits and field trips. Maintain bulletin boards
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Two (2) years relevant experience managing large groups of students
Preferred
Associate's degree or equivalent from an accredited two year program preferred
Paraprofessional certificate
