The Engineering Technician I will work in the Construction Engineering team, focusing on quality assurance, compliance inspection, and materials testing at construction sites.

Responsibilities
Working in the field at building construction sites as a Quality Assurance representative; this involves observing, documenting and reporting on the construction work and performing construction materials testing
Inspecting construction and materials compliance with the drawings and specifications
Materials include reinforced concrete, masonry, structural steel, spray applied proofing, soils, earth work, and foundations
Field testing of plastic concrete, grout, mortar, block, fireproofing, soils. non-destructive testing of welds, and high strength bolting installation
Communicate and coordinate with the engineers, contractors, and clients
Work construction hours (which may include overtime)
Additional duties may be assigned, as needed
Qualification
Required
BS degree in Civil Engineering or related field of study
Reliable transportation
Ability to read drawings and specifications, write reports, create sketches, and communicate technical details
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment with minimal supervision
Preferred
Recent or upcoming graduates are encouraged to apply
FE / EIT in NJ is a plus
NJ DCA Special Inspector certification (e.g.: Structural Steel, Masonry, Concrete, etc.) is a plus
Experience working on construction projects is a plus!
