The Senior Blockchain Infrastructure Engineer will design, build, and maintain the core blockchain infrastructure, ensuring network reliability and integrating advancements in EVM and cross-chain technologies.

Responsibilities
Core Protocol Operations
Manage and optimize EVM node infrastructure (Geth, AvalancheGo, etc.)
Design and implement monitoring, telemetry, and automated failover systems
Optimize validator, RPC, archive, and indexer node performance and uptime
Sovereign Chain Deployment & Maintenance
Lead configuration, deployment, and upgrades for our Layer 1 sovereign chain
Design chain parameters & consensus configurations tuned for our ecosystem use case
Ensure robust upgrade and rollback processes for production chain releases
EVM & Avalanche Ecosystem Integration
Deeply understand and extend EVM capabilities and Avalanche tech stack
Contribute to bridge, messaging, and cross-chain modules (e.g. LayerZero integration)
Work closely with developer tooling and Dev-Rel teams to improve node UX for smart contract developers
Security and Reliability
Implement novel security practices for validator keys, RPC endpoints, and infra pipelines
Participate in audits, incident response, and critical production debugging
Performance & Load Testing
Design and execute load tests to benchmark and optimize chain TPS (transactions per second)
Analyze bottlenecks and optimize node configurations, mempool management, and block production
Build tooling and dashboards to continuously monitor network performance at scale
Partner with engineering and protocol teams to propose improvements to chain throughput, latency and gas optimisation
Qualification
Required
5+ years experience in blockchain infrastructure or protocol engineering roles
Understanding of EVM internals, client implementations, RPC, and chain state management
Proven experience managing one of the top L1's EVM and Go-based chains
Experience running & scaling blockchain infra in cloud-native and bare metal environments
Familiarity with cross-chain messaging protocols & bridge design (e.g. LayerZero, Wormhole, Axelar)
Proficiency with DevOps tooling (Terraform, Kubernetes) and CI/CD for infra management
Strong understanding of p2p networking, consensus algorithms, and chain upgrade procedures
Experience with sovereign chains, appchains, or building & maintaining L1 or L2 networks
Familiarity with AI + blockchain integration patterns (compute marketplaces, zkML, etc.)
