Director of Accounting/FP&A
Maxar Technologies is seeking a Director of Accounting/FP&A Reporting to manage day-to-day financial reporting activities and coordination. This role involves overseeing financial accounting activities, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and improving the visibility and reporting of financial data.

Responsibilities
Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual management reporting process including management and owner reporting as well as various special analyses
Working closely with the Accounting and Finance teams, continually improve the visibility and reportability of financial data
Leads, plans, drives, and oversees execution of all financial accounting activities
General Accounting: Control the general ledger(s) to ensure that all invoices, cash receipts, invoice adjustments and general ledger transactions are properly documented and recorded
Responsible for the maintenance, development, implementation and control of financial systems and records for accurate reporting/ recording of financial information
Ensure integrity of Account Reconciliation process
Financial Close and Reporting: Lead execution of monthly, quarterly and annual Financial Close process inline with prescribed timelines
Ensure that all produced financial statements fairly reflect the performance and position of the business. Drive an effective balance sheet review process on monthly basis
Improve management of intercompany transactions
Manage the day-to-day finance interface with our parent company, Advent
Along with other leaders, responsible for compliance, both review and systemic
Define, benchmark and implement operational best practices across Accounting, Finance and FP&A
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws regarding finances and reporting
Qualification
Required
Must be a US Citizen or permanent resident
Master's degree in accounting, finance, business administration with an emphasis in accounting, finance, or a related field
Minimum of 12 years of experience in Accounting and/or Finance
Minimum of 5 years of experience in management level experience
Manufacturing Company accounting experience
Understanding of, and prior experience with, percent complete revenue recognition
Knowledge of Financial Information Systems requirements/needs
Knowledge of finance, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles
Preferred
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
Excellent computer skills; experience in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong organizational and process adherence skills with ability to drive the same in others
Resilient under pressure and can handle effectively competing priorities and tight deadlines
A strong 'presence' and self-awareness with ability to manage relationships successfully with a wide range of people, different functions and varying layers of management
Hands-on management style willing to roll-up sleeves with the team
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail
Superior organizational skills for a continually evolving environment
Able to work in a dynamic, complex environment as a self-starter who can quickly understand and develop processes
Able to work well with senior executives and team, as well as mentor/lead other team members
