Senior Principal RF Mechanical Engineer – Radome Technical Specialist (Onsite)

Responsibilities
Coordinate engineering activities to perform complex trade studies and develop innovative designs for radomes operating in extreme environments
Provide technical expertise for the design, analysis, and integration of radome products, ensuring alignment with technical, cost, and schedule requirements
Collaborate with suppliers and customers to procure and demonstrate advanced radome capabilities
Contribute to root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for failure investigations involving radome components
Oversee radome-level design and testing processes, including design reviews, validation, and verification activities
Conduct trade studies on material substrates, including validating electrical properties and assessing affordability and manufacturability
Plan and execute comprehensive testing to characterize the RF, thermal, and structural performance of radomes
Act as the primary technical liaison to material and manufacturing suppliers, as well as test facilities, ensuring clear and effective communication and collaboration
Communicate task progress and influence strategic initiatives across teams, programs, and customer leadership
Represent the program at supplier reviews, customer meetings, and technical engagements, proposing strategies that address program goals
Qualification
Required
Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of engineering experience, OR an advanced degree in a related field and 8 years of engineering experience, including any combination of the following:
Designing radomes for complex requirements and environments
Analyzing and testing materials and substrates for radome applications
Developing and executing RF testing of radomes to validate analyses
Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
DoD Clearance: Secret
Preferred
Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers to ensure satisfaction and continued business
Extensive knowledge of supplier and industry capabilities related to RF materials and radomes
Hands-on experience testing RF structures in chambers and ranges
Familiarity with material inspection and scanning techniques such as CT scanning and ultrasound
Experience working with an array of suppliers involved in RF structure development and manufacturing (e.g., materials manufacturers, molding and machining shops, high-temperature testing facilities)
Excellent written communication and oral presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to audiences
