Responsibilities

Help clients in the energy sector (across supply and demand) and beyond to improve performance and operations and make strategic decisions for the future

Provide daily problem-solving, structuring, modeling, and analytical support for our Energy Solutions tools and analyses

Gather information to develop these tools/benchmarks and synthesize findings into McKinsey-formatted products, such as complex models, summary reports, and standalone presentations for internal and external audiences

Collaborate with other experts to solve client problems, deepening your knowledge and refining your analytical and thought-partnership skills

Required

Undergraduate degree in engineering, economics, science, or other degree with a quantitative focus

1+ years' experience (internships and/or full-time) and interest in the energy industry, such as oil & gas, power, sustainable fuels, chemicals, decarbonization, and commodity trading

Experience with modeling capability tools such as Python or R

Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with Tableau

Advanced problem-solving skills with a strong aptitude for working with numbers and quantitative models

Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment and engage with individuals at all organizational levels

Capacity to excel in a fast-paced, results-driven team setting, demonstrating a steep learning curve and a strong commitment to coaching and development

Ability to effectively communicate complex ideas in English, both verbally and in writing

Preferred

Experience with power model software, such as Pypsa, Plexos, or Aurora is a plus
