Responsibilities
Apply SLAM expertise to automate and streamline the 3D map building process in preparation for the next phase of Waymo’s rapid expansion
Help develop a long-term strategy for the evolution of Waymo’s 3D map as a key component to scaling Mapping capabilities
Make high-impact contributions across Waymo’s Mapping stack including algorithm advances, infrastructure development, and tooling improvements
Qualification
Required
Experience in SLAM, Localization, or a related robotics field
Backend engineer with experience building server-side infrastructure and data processing
Solid coding skills (C++ preferred)
> 7 years of total experience
Strong sense of ownership and ability to thrive in ambiguity
Proven track record of being able to apply a broad range of skills to effectively solve business problems
Master's in Computer Science, Robotics or related field
Preferred
Experience in the AV industry
