Responsibilities

Create and implement a comprehensive leadership annual giving strategy that includes solicitations at or above $1,000. Use Penn’s fundraising database for enhanced prospect identification and outreach efforts. Foster strong relationships to upgrade current donors and expand their giving to additional priority areas like the Dean’s Discretionary Fund
Develop relationships with alumni and annual giving prospects and donors through individual and group in-person and virtual meetings, receptions, and on-campus or regional events
Design and implement a comprehensive alumni engagement strategy including events such as Alumni Weekend, Alumni Hall of Fame Awards, regional alumni receptions, and receptions in conjunction with national conferences. Have recurring meetings alumni board leadership. Recruit and train alumni leaders and provide programmatic support and guidance for their key initiatives. Develop strategy to establish formal connections between alumni boards for different degree programs as well as annual or bi-annual meetings between the boards and the dean
Develop strategy for and manage career services focused events that connect alumni and current students and expose students to professional pursuits. Host at least two events per year
Develop strategy for and manage relationship with alumni volunteer mentors. Cultivate and steward this engaged volunteer group in ways including invitations to dean’s briefings, One Book event invitations, personalized invitations to regional events, and visit requests to get their feedback on the program. Plan two virtual events per year

Required

Bachelor of Science and 5 to 7 years of development experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
Knowledge of fundraising and alumni relations, including program and event planning
Creative individual, who, with minimal supervision, can develop and enhance programs to meet the goal of increased annual fund participation and alumni engagement
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to interact with a broad mix of constituents (e.g. alumni, donors, and other volunteers) who have an interest and commitment to social work and social policy issues
Ability to communicate effectively and clearly in both oral and written form
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work both collaboratively and independently as needed
Must have valid driver's license
Travel and some weekend and evening work required
