Postdoctoral Researcher - Survey Science/Time Domain Astronomy
Penn State University is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics to work with Professor Charlotte Ward and collaborators on projects related to survey science and time-domain astronomy. The role involves analysis of data from various astronomical surveys and the application of machine learning techniques to survey data.

Responsibilities
Work on projects related to analysis of Rubin, Euclid, and La Silla Schmidt Southern Survey (LS4) data
Implement multi-resolution forward modeling techniques for joint survey processing of Rubin and Euclid
Conduct time-domain science across Rubin, Euclid, and LS4
Study variable AGN population and time-delay cosmography with strongly lensed supernovae
Investigate changing-look AGN/tidal disruption event/supernova host galaxy studies
Join collaborative efforts from a range of working groups associated with Rubin, Euclid, and LS4
Qualification
Required
A PhD in Physics, Astronomy, Computer Science, or a closely related field is required
Experience with HPC systems, jax, python, or similar programming languages, machine learning, and transient/AGN science would be an advantage
