Responsibilities

Plan and perform a variety of duties involved in design, development, and continuous improvement of production machinery, equipment and facilities
Advise and assist maintenance personnel in solving equipment problems and machine repairs and support the completion of equipment and facility enhancements to promote safety, quality, and cost/service improvements
Develop and implement plans for cost reduction and plant efficiency improvements
Work with operators, team leaders, value stream managers, and planners to optimize process center layouts and designs incorporating material flow and line balancing
Use lean tools, communication skills and leadership abilities, lead and facilitate kaizen activities encouraging multi-functional groups to participate, and meet common goals
Lead and support capital expenditure requests and implementations using basic cost justification and business management principles
Engineering Change Order (ECO) processing - authorization of product and documentation changes

Required

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering is required
Basic knowledge, classroom and/or project experience in PLC, Electronics, Hydraulics, Welding methods, and Robotics

Preferred

Candidates with at least 1 year of background in a manufacturing setting within engineering are preferred
Experience in implementing and leading Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement projects preferred
Experience using DMAIC/PDCA concepts in a project environment preferred
Preferred experience: robotics and automation, progressive dies and stamping, PLC and controls, Six Sigma Greenbelt or statistical analysis
