Responsibilities
Performs a variety of diagnostic radiographic exams
Provides direct patient care under the direction of a physician
Plans and organizes the operation of the radiology services in the facility
Performs radiologic procedures as scheduled
Assists in the delivery of primary healthcare and patient care management under the direction of the physician or nurse
Prepares histories and vital signs, sets up exam rooms and instruments, collects laboratory tests, processes waived laboratory tests, and prepares and maintains supplies and equipment used for examination/treatment
Supports other practice operations as assigned by the Practice Manager or Physician
Maintains order and cleanliness of assigned areas
Additional responsibilities may include registration, triage and clinical assistance to the physician when needed
Qualification
Required
A graduate of an approved JRCERT radiologic program (The Joint Review Committee/DNV on Education in Radiologic Technology)
Hospital clinical experience
Basic computer experience (1-2 years' work experience or college level classes)
ARRT certified (compliant with all continuing education mandates)
ARRT registry eligible (must complete within one year)
Radiological student from an approved Radiology program that has completed all academic courses (must be registry eligible within three months and complete registry within one year)
BLS completed prior to going to the unit/department and to be maintained going forward
Preferred
Six months hospital and/or physician office experience
