Associate Attorney - Florida

Responsibilities
Review of correspondence, and files to determine whether they are appropriate, review of answers, preparation of discovery and dispositive motions, and all aspects of preparing for and conducting trials
Attend court hearings in Florida when required
Provide analysis and advice on legal and regulatory risks
An attorney should be familiar with state and federal consumer laws and keep abreast of any changes in state or local rules
Ability to effectively manage his or her own caseload
Qualification
Required
Between one- and five-years' experience
Licensure is required with admission to the Florida Bar
Ability to handle all aspects of litigation
Ability to independently engage in risk analysis and develop strategies that adhere to state and federal rules and regulations, and compliance standards

Attend court hearings in Florida when required
Provide analysis and advice on legal and regulatory risks
Familiarity with state and federal consumer laws and keep abreast of any changes in state or local rules
Ability to effectively manage his or her own caseload
Maintaining a professional appearance and providing a positive company image to the public
Represent clients in pre-suit and post-judgment matters and attend court hearings when required
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to prioritize and organize high volumes of information
Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment
Ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm
Background in civil litigation and experience attending court proceedings
Licensed to practice law in Florida
Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws
Ability to analyze case law and provide recommendations
Ability to draft legal pleadings, motions, discovery, stipulations, etc
Ability to write, review, and edit reports, opinions, correspondence, articles, and other documents
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Frequently required to talk or hear, and use hand to type, handle, or touch objects
Regularly required to stand and walk, and may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders
Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds at times
Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities
Preferred
Admission to practice in additional states is ideal
Knowledge in Bankruptcy Law, Foreclosure Law or the FDCPA/FCRA/TCPA is a plus
Experience in collection law and/or significant courtroom experience is preferred
