Aircraft Assembler Production Test Mechanics
The Boeing Company is a leader in aerospace manufacturing, currently seeking Experienced Production Test Electrical + Test Heavy Assemblers to assist with the 787 production system in North Charleston, South Carolina. This role involves completing detailed work instructions, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and performing functional testing of aircraft electrical systems.

Responsibilities
Must have the ability to complete the New Hire Training Cycle Flow to obtain and maintain all required certifications
Ability to adhere to high standards of safety and quality
Comply with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Boeing Quality Management System (QMS) requirements
Ensure your work conforms to engineering drawings and specifications, has First Pass Quality (FPQ) and is free from Foreign Object Debris
Use computers and software applications in a production environment
Look up/read/comprehend technical work instructions, drawings and/or specifications
Wear appropriate protective clothing/equipment determined by the task you are performing
Operate mechanical lifts of various types (e.g. ladders, tiger and aerial lifts)
Use various hand tools
Climbing/balancing (stairs, ladders, poles, scaffolding, inclined surfaces), Crawling, Crouching (squatting)
Working around energized sources (electrical equipment and hazards/shock, e.g. circuit breakers and wiring) and exposure to constant noise
Finger manipulation (keyboarding, other)
Reading from a computer screen, printed drawings or documents
Carrying/Lifting up to 10-35 pounds
Flexion/Extension (head bent down, head bent back), Handling, Kneeling, Bending at the waist, Reaching (overhead), Rotation of head/neck, Standing, Twisting at the waist and walking
Perform functional testing of aircraft electrical systems and components as well as perform aircraft systems troubleshooting and fault repair
Assess and document test or analysis data to show compliance
Perform complex production assembly operations on structural parts, mechanical assemblies, subassemblies and aircraft systems, equipment and accessories using manual or automated assembly tools
Identify roadblocks and production constraints escalating issues which cannot be resolved by the team using open and clear communication
Support teammates to improve overall team performance by providing cross training and mentoring
Qualification
Required
Ability to work a variable shift
Ability to meet physical demands of the role such as: flexion and extension (head bent down, head bent back), handling, kneeling, bending at the waist, reaching overhead, rotation of head/neck, standing, twisting at the waist and walking, climbing/balancing (stairs, ladders, poles, scaffolding, inclined surfaces), crawling, crouching (squatting)
Ability to carry/lift up to 10-35 pounds
Ability to work with High Hazard Chemicals
1+ years of experience using software applications for internet navigation, email, Microsoft Suite and/or other specialized computer applications
1+ years of experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications, in English
1+ years of experience in electrical assembly and/or electronic materials
1+ years of experience in avionics systems troubleshooting, wire bundle installations, and aircraft electrical systems troubleshooting
Must have the ability to complete the New Hire Training Cycle Flow to obtain and maintain all required certifications

3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
3+ years of experience with functional testing of aircraft electrical systems
3+ years of experience with functional testing of IFE systems knowledge
3+ years of experience with aircraft systems troubleshooting and fault repair experience
1+ years of experience with 787 Program Experience
