Responsibilities
Design, analyze, and optimize mechanical systems and components for power generation and combined cycle plant equipment
Perform detailed engineering calculations, simulations, and modeling to support system upgrades and troubleshooting
Oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of power plant equipment to ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, project managers, and operations staff, to improve plant performance and efficiency
Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, maintenance schedules, and operational procedures
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and plant staff
Support project planning, budgeting, and execution for power plant upgrades or new installations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum of 6 years of experience in power generation
Strong knowledge of thermodynamic principles, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics as applied to power generation systems
Proficiency in engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, MATLAB)
Familiarity with industry standards such as ASME, API, and ANSI
Proven ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical systems and implement effective solutions
Excellent communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and presenting technical information
Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
Experience with gas and steam turbine maintenance, repair, and optimization
Knowledge of combined cycle power plant operations and efficiency improvements
Familiarity with control systems and instrumentation used in power generation
Understanding of renewable energy integration with traditional power generation systems
