Electromechanical Product Design Engineer
Tesla is a leading electric vehicle and energy company, seeking engineers with a creative drive and strong mechanical engineering fundamentals. The role involves designing mechanical components and mechanisms related to electrical connections, developing novel technologies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate systems into Tesla products.

Responsibilities
Design mechanical components and mechanisms related to electrical connections, conductors, assembly aids and vehicle integration parts
Develop novel technologies and novel manufacturing techniques related to the same
Perform thermal/structural modeling of components and systems
Build prototypes and perform functional validation in both laboratory and prototype vehicles
Work with cross functional mechanical engineering and integration teams to develop functional systems
Work with electrical engineers and PCBA designers to integrate components into electro-mechanical systems
Work with test and reliability engineers to validate new designs in accelerated testing
Work with manufacturing engineers and suppliers to transition concepts to production
Qualification
Required
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
Demonstrated successful experience in mechanical engineering including part design and in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of high-volume manufacturing processes such as injection molding, die casting, stamping, extrusion, etc
Demonstratable mechanical engineering fundamental knowledge
Detail oriented personality with solid documentation and reporting skills
Proficiency in CAD modeling, CATIA experience highly valued but not required
10-15% of travel is expected
