Project Engineer Lead

Responsibilities

Responsible for all aspects of customer interaction with internal technical teams to ensure progress on all stages of project lifecycle
Communicate, consult with, and participate in design and manufacturing support; continually gives team feedback on improvement areas
Lead planning and execution efforts in maintaining appropriate tracking of cost, schedule, and process of a project
Monitors and reports project financial performance
Work directly with the customer technical team to determine detailed requirements and deliverables, communicate or present to customer on project status or health
Direct and participate in engineering activities, including design, and drafting, engineering reviews, and work order preparation
Responsible for assuring the team has materials organized and ready for manufacturing, including monitoring purchasing activities
Interact frequently with shop floor to ensure project health; may have daily presence on shop floor
Assure all team members have a complete understanding of all quality requirements for projects
Manage project scope and is responsible for the execution of the team’s work
Perform risk assessments, frequently encourages less experienced engineers to identify improvement areas
Shall, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors
Must be at work on time and maintain good attendance. This is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job

Required

Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3)
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required)
A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field is required
All positions required at least a high school diploma/GED
Must have demonstrated leadership capabilities
Experience with CATIA and NX or equivalent CAD software is required
Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language

Preferred

Experience working with composites, in a lean manufacturing environment or working with complex aircraft assemblies is ideal
Commercial/military aerospace experience is preferred
Experience with SAP ERP software is advantageous
