Network Technology Coordinator, ITS

Responsibilities
Assist with device management and asset compliance in collaboration with key ITS teams
Collaborate with School Administrators to implement best practices around managing schools devices and technology, ensuring compliance with security and acceptable use protocols
Support assigned Schools with the annual CPS Asset & Physical Inventory Audit
Assist assigned schools with Jamf Pro to manage the school’s Apple devices
Ensure device software compliance across all device platforms (Windows, Chromebooks, Apple), to include compliance for Assessment Readiness
Coordinate with applicable ITS teams to conduct routine hardware assessments to ensure devices are kept in good working order
Provide network and system maintenance support, executing preventative maintenance schedules for network and computer systems
Provide network troubleshooting in collaboration with the ITS SOC team and perform visual inspections of network equipment to ensure optimal performance
Provide technical assistance to school staff and students
Provide guidance to school staff on the ITS student/staff account management procedures
Troubleshoot hardware, software and network issues for staff and students based on tickets submitted by school users via the District’s ticketing system (i.e., ServiceNow)
Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, and network equipment to ensure optimal performance
Assist with technology equipment moves within the school, as needed, related to CPS school construction projects
Conduct technical training and support in collaboration with other ITS teams who also provide training and support
Conduct training sessions for school staff and students on various technologies; integrate new tools into daily operations and curriculum; and provide ongoing support
Support the ITS Student Tech Crew program
Communicate and collaborate with school administrators, their designees, and ITS staff and vendors
Communicate proactively with school administrators and their designees
Collaborate with other ITS staff and vendor teams who also provide virtual and on-site support to schools
Maintains accurate, detailed, and timely records of support requests, resolutions, and travel in the District’s Ticketing System (i.e., ServiceNow)
Participate in team meetings

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required
Minimum of three (3) years in systems administration or technical support is required
Experience in basic computer hardware setup/troubleshooting and break-fix repairs (laptops, desktops) is required
Experience with device re-imaging, software deployment, and basic AV equipment setup/troubleshooting is required
Excellent customer service skills, including a positive, professional attitude
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Exceptional problem-solving abilities with a methodical approach
Proven technical proficiency in diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network connectivity issues, including break-fix and re-imaging
Strong understanding of LAN/WAN concepts, network protocols, common operating systems (Chrome OS, iOS, Windows), and device platforms (Apple, Chromebook, Windows devices)
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work independently in a mobile environment
Proficiency in using ticketing systems (e.g., Service Now)
Ability to stay current with evolving technologies and trends and adhere to district policies and guidelines
Physical Work: exerting or lifting twenty (20) to fifty (50) pounds occasionally, or up to fifteen (15) pounds frequently
Frequent and regular travel to various school locations is required
Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to reliable transportation
Establish/Maintain Chicago Residency - Employees are required to live within the geographic boundaries of the City of Chicago within six months of their CPS hire date and maintain residency throughout their employment with the district
