Responsibilities

Schedule and perform vehicle preventative maintenance, including oil changes, tune-ups, and tire rotations

Diagnose vehicle issues, often by using computerized diagnostic equipment

Replace worn or broken parts, align wheels, adjust brakes, tighten bearings, tune engines, etc

Follow checklists to ensure that all critical parts are examined

Perform minor body work

Performs automobile and light truck repairs by disassembling and overhauling engines, transmissions, clutches, rear ends and other assemblies

Estimates time and material costs on vehicle repairs, and requisitions new parts and equipment

Use testing equipment to ensure that repairs and maintenance are effective

Review completed maintenance and repair work with management and vehicle operators

Perform emergency road service, as required

Other duties as assigned

Required

High School Diploma or GED Required

Automotive repair and maintenance technician, preferably on light-duty and medium-duty trucks Required
