Responsibilities

Brings to the data governance team Data as a Product in service to Data Governance as a Service mindset
This role will focus on the development and deployment of the Data Catalogues through Metadata & Metrics, and will support Data Integrity efforts across Transformations, and Reference Table Management in understanding and translating critical data into usable Metric, Transformation, and Metadata catalogue supports
Candidate will partner both internally within the Business Insights & Performance team, and likewise across Operations within a Shared Services Organization supporting Lines of Business, Risk/Compliance professionals, technology, and business line leaders to support and maintain data governance practices and processes within Operations as it relates to data, analytics and reporting
Through knowledgeable application of Business Intelligence (BI) Visualization tools, and data implementation approaches which support requirements gathering and understanding Metrics to Metadata lineage support across Data Engineering Teams, Reporting & Analytics Teams, Compliance Teams, Risk Partners, and will leverage Enterprise Data Governance tools!

Required

Cloud Platform Expertise: Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including data services like Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Databricks, or similar AWS background
Familiarity with Databricks or Snowflake architecture, including data cataloging, lineage tracking, access history, and integration with governance tools like Unity Catalog / Collibra
Data Governance Tools: Proficient in Databricks and/or Collibra for metadata management, data lineage, and policy enforcement across enterprise systems
Experience with data catalog deployment, including support for transformation tracking and reference table management
Data Engineering & Analytics: Strong SQL skills across platforms (Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, IBM SQL) for querying, profiling, and transforming data
Exposure to Databricks or Snowflake for scalable data processing, orchestration, and machine learning workflows
Familiarity with semantic modeling, source-to-target mapping, and data visualization using tools like Power BI
Governance & Compliance: Understanding of data governance principles, including policy development, regulatory compliance, and risk documentation
Ability to enforce controls ensuring data is fit for purpose and supports business processing needs
Technical Collaboration & Documentation: Experience working in matrixed organizations with cross-functional teams (Risk, Compliance, Data Engineering, Business Intelligence)
Strong documentation skills for systems, data flows, and governance processes
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
Two to three years of experience in data governance activities

Preferred

Basic project management/business analysis knowledge and familiarity with the business line processes and/or applications
Thorough understanding of Data Governance principles
Thorough knowledge of data architecture concepts and data governance tooling
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
