Responsibilities

Designing, developing, evaluating, and preparing recommendations with basis of design (BOD), scope of work (SOW) documents, in addition to design, construction and specifications documents
Overseeing engineering and construction for the facility mechanical systems work including HVAC, process cooling water, wastewater, general and acid/ammonia exhaust, fire protection, plumbing, process-piping and equipment
Supporting projects of varying size and complexity including assessment of systems, consulting system owners and analyzing scope requests from stakeholders

Required

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from ABET accredited university
At least 10 years of practical application of mechanical facilities design engineering, including HVAC, hydronics, process piping, exhaust, plumbing, and related mechanical facilities systems
At least 5 years of design project delivery processes experience
Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and leadership experience
Solid knowledge and application of the mechanical requirements per ASME and ASME B31.3, building codes, fire codes, and other related standards, such as ASHRAE
Solid knowledge in practice and procedures for specifications and selection of all types of mechanical equipment and components
Experience reviewing vendor submittal packages against client requirements and specifications
Field experience interacting with subcontractors and construction personnel

Preferred

EIT or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure
5 years of experience as a facility engineer
Working knowledge of design-related deliverables, such as P&IDs, PFDs, Details, and Equipment Plans, etc
Proficient working knowledge of design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit or BIM360
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas
Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams
Passionate about buildings and construction
