Responsibilities

Perform a variety of noninvasive vascular procedures, including but not limited to:

Carotid Duplex

Venous Duplex

Arterial Duplex (including graft patencies, peripheral arteries, renal and mesenteric arteries)

Upper and Lower Extremity PVRs

TOS (Thoracic Outlet Syndrome) Studies

PPG (Photoplethysmography)

PTP (Post-Thrombotic Syndrome) Studies

Vasospasm Studies

Conduct physical assessments and provide patient teaching regarding vascular testing and procedures

Enter and verify orders through the electronic medical record (EMR) system accurately and promptly

Maintain proficiency in equipment operation, calibration, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal image quality and safety

Participate in education and training activities for staff, students, and new team members

Engage in personal continuing education to stay current with evolving technology and best practices in vascular imaging

Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and ensure all procedures are completed in a timely and efficient manner

Support cost containment efforts through appropriate use of supplies and equipment

Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain a positive, compassionate approach with patients and colleagues

Provide preliminary interpretations of vascular studies for physician review and assist in coordinating timely communication of critical results

Required

Job requires approximately 2–4 months of on-the-job training before able to work independently

Must have the ability to respond to and withstand occasional crisis situations with professionalism and composure

Strong interpersonal, communication, and critical-thinking skills

Commitment to quality, safety, and compassionate patient care

Certification as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) through ARDMS or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) through CCI required (or eligibility within one year of hire)

Current BLS certification required

Graduate of an accredited vascular technology or diagnostic medical sonography program required

Preferred

Previous experience of at least one year in vascular imaging preferred
