Responsibilities

Evaluate environmental problems and develop practical, cost-effective solutions, often related to pollution, climate change, and sustainability
Design, test, and implement systems for clean water supply, wastewater treatment, air pollution control, and waste management
Ensure projects and facilities comply with federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations, and help obtain necessary permits
Collect and analyze environmental data to monitor pollution levels, assess environmental impacts, and inform project planning
Interact closely with operations, maintenance, engineering and process control personnel in the accomplishment of assigned tasks
Environmental review of trial plans for process changes and chemical trials

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Geology, or Environmental Science
A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a chemical/manufacturing facility
Ability to find creative and effective solutions to complex environmental challenges
Strong capabilities for analyzing data and evaluating scientific information to develop accurate assessments
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present findings, write reports, and collaborate with diverse teams of scientists, engineers, and public officials
Knowledge of scientific principles from fields like biology, chemistry, and soil science, in addition to engineering

Preferred

Must possess a strong work ethic and leadership qualities
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple projects and/or requests concurrently
