Responsibilities
Designs, develops, programs, simulates, and tests automated machinery to streamline manufacturing processes
Uses design techniques to build automated systems such as: measurement functions, control functions, and actuators, etc
Considers automation workflow, production layout, and safety measures when designing automated machinery processes
Drafts and designs detailed documentation for design specifications and additional relevant documents. Adheres to international and local regulatory standards for design, process, and safety considerations
Develops and defines control system applications for various machinery and equipment using technologies or platforms such as ladder logic programming for programmable logic controllers (PLCs), human machine interfaces (HMIs), data control systems (DCSs), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), computerized numerical control (CNC) systems or motion control technology
Audits current equipment and automated processes to determine failure rates. Coordinates quality control objectives and activities to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, and minimize cost
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate automation solutions, conduct testing and troubleshooting, and provide technical support and training to ensure successful implementation and operation of automated systems
Responsible for the implementation, operation, and maintenance of instrument/electrical systems
Checks control system schematics and specifications and uses software and testing equipment to diagnose and resolve system malfunctions
Creates preventative maintenance plans
Provides guidance and mentorship to less experienced technologists and engineers
Qualification
Required
University Degree and 12+ years related experience OR
Master's Degree and 8+ years related experience
Bachelor or Graduate degree from an Engineering program that allows engineering licensure
