Ophthalmic Technician

OCLI Vision is a leading multi-specialty ophthalmology network in the U.S. They are seeking a fully trained Ophthalmic Technician 2 who is passionate and empathetic to join their team. This role involves conducting pre-exam elements of patient visits, gathering patient information, and assisting ophthalmologists with procedures.

Responsibilities

You’ll test and record patient's far acuity, near acuity, peripheral vision, depth perception, and color perception
You’ll apply drops to anesthetize, dilate, or medicate eyes and collect and process specimens for testing
You’ll triage emergency cases appropriately into physicians’ schedule and maintain patient flow
You’ll prepare patient and procedure room and assist ophthalmologist with procedures as needed
You’ll perform first level maintenance on equipment and notify the office manager of any equipment malfunctions
You will be expected to utilize, as appropriate, infection control techniques and universal precautions, and to maintain confidentiality at all times

Required

Fully trained Ophthalmic Technician 2
Two years minimum of refracting experience
Ability to work with all specialties and perform all ancillary tasks
Excellent communicator – both verbally and written
Outgoing and loves the idea of interacting with patients every day
Comfortable providing white glove service and responding quickly to patients' needs
Dependable problem solver – able to keep cool in stressful situations
Positive, can-do attitude and works well in collaborative environments
Flexible – able to roll with the punches and easily accept change
Regularly required to stand; walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel
Frequently required to sit
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds

Preferred

Knowledgeable in ocular pharmacology such as anesthetics, steroids, antibiotics, mydriatics and cycloplegics, epinephrine, miotics and non-steroidal anti-inflammatories
