Lead Ophthalmic Technician

Koch Eye Associates is seeking a Lead Ophthalmic Technician who will perform advanced ophthalmic technician duties while providing leadership to other technicians. This role includes overseeing daily operations, ensuring smooth patient flow, and assisting with complex diagnostic tests and procedures.

Responsibilities

Leads and Instructs ophthalmic techs and students in the performance of new examinations and/or special procedures
Instructs medical students and residents in the technical aspects of ophthalmic testing
Performs and records results of specialized ophthalmic examination procedures on patients
Performs the quality control studies and supervises the calibration, maintenance, and repair of ophthalmic equipment and instruments
Responsible for completing all duties as requested by supervisors and meeting daily deadlines
Works proactively to sustain and improve overall success of the clinical operations
Prepares daily tech schedule
Approves payroll for ophthalmic technicians
Responsible for ordering medical supplies and maintaining par levels for inventory
Performs other duties as assigned
Travel to our various locations as needed for various needs and coverage

Required

Knowledge of performance evaluation and customer service metrics
Solid understanding of reporting and budgeting procedures
Proficient in MS Office and call center equipment/software programs

Excellent organizational and leadership skills with a problem-solving ability
Reliable and results-driven
Positive and patient
Must possess the physical, mental, and cognitive skills needed to complete essential tasks, including abilities such as learning, remembering, focusing, categorizing, and integrating information for comprehension, problem-solving, and timely decision-making
High school diploma or equivalent; Higher degree in a relevant discipline will be appreciated
Minimum one year of ophthalmic technician experience
Has previous lead or supervisory experience
Experience in customer service is required
Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
Sitting, Standing, Bending, Reaching, Stooping, Walking and Lifting
Ability to see, hear, and speak with sufficient capability to perform assigned tasks
Driving independently to other facilities
