Mustang Cat is an authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Southeast Texas since 1952. They are seeking an experienced Component Shop Heavy Equipment Technician focused on powertrain systems to disassemble, inspect, rebuild, and test Caterpillar powertrain components.

Responsibilities

Disassemble, inspect, and reassemble Caterpillar powertrain components (transmissions, torque converters, differentials, final drives)

Perform failure analysis and provide detailed reporting

Test transmissions on a dynamometer (machine and industrial applications)

Connect, disconnect, and read pressure gauges to support diagnostics

Work with Caterpillar service systems, including SIS 2.0, Salesforce, and PowerTest

Handle electrical systems troubleshooting and repair

Safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other shop equipment

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
