Responsibilities

Support and assist the veterinary medical staff
Provide exemplary patient and client service with sensitivity to the emotional bond between owners and their pets
Perform basic record keeping, animal restraint and husbandry, administering oral medications, stocking of medical supplies, and maintaining safety and cleanliness of workspace

Qualification

Required

3-4 years experience as a veterinary assistant/technician in a progressive general practice and/or 2 years in a specialty practice
The ability to prioritize and adapt to a fast paced, fluid environment
Skilled in phlebotomy and IV catheter placement in canine and feline patients that are stable or compromised
Possess a good overall knowledge of disease processes, medical math, stable anesthesia and pharmacology
Looking to commit to at least 2-3 shifts every month
Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
