I&C Technician - Nuclear
EnergySolutions is seeking a Nuclear Instrumentation and Controls Technician for an immediate need at Oconee Nuclear Station. The role involves the safe installation, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of complex instrumentation and control systems within a nuclear facility, ensuring the precise operation of critical equipment.

Responsibilities
Demonstrate knowledge and capabilities in the theory, installation, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of general instrumentation and controls, including:
Pressure, flow, and temperature instrumentation, including gauges, transmitters, and switches
Ultrasonic and radar flow and level transmitters and sensors
Soldering
Wire terminations, including splicing, lugging, and Raychem, in accordance with design standards
Instrumentation tube installation, including bending, cutting, and Swagelok fittings
Current, voltage, and watt meters
Digital recorders and devices
Programmable logic controllers
Digital systems
Proficiency in the use and understanding of:
Electrical elementary drawings
Wiring diagrams
Process and instrumentation diagrams
Flow diagrams
General layout drawings
Experience in functional testing to verify safe and proper operation of systems and equipment prior to and after initial equipment/system operation, including:
Control circuits
Permissive
Trips
Maintain a clean work area and ensure good housekeeping
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Must have been badged at a nuclear plant less than 30 days ago, preferably a Duke plant
Demonstrate knowledge and capabilities in the theory, installation, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of general instrumentation and controls, including: Pressure, flow, and temperature instrumentation, including gauges, transmitters, and switches
Ultrasonic and radar flow and level transmitters and sensors

High School diploma or equivalent
3+ years of experience
Prior nuclear power plant experience, highly desired
Must be able to obtain nuclear unescorted access, including fitness for duty requirements
Successful completion of all training including, Radiation Worker Training, Plant Access Training, Fitness for Duty, etc
Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions
Ability to assemble and disassemble objects and operate small equipment and power tools
Availability for shift work, if needed
Ability to support other crafts as requested
Ability to work at varying heights, in cramped quarters, extreme heat and/or cold, and loud environments (above 89 decibels)
Knowledge of relevant processes and procedures
Ability to obtain and maintain knowledge of technical manuals and procedures
Ability to pass specific training and qualifications
Willingness to work overtime, including shift work, weekends, and holidays as needed
Ability to pass all background and screening requirements, including drug and/or alcohol screening
Visual acuity, balancing, stooping, reaching, walking, manual dexterity, grasping, feeling, hearing, talking
Capacity to think, concentrate, and focus for long periods
Ability to read and write complex documents in English
Capacity to reason and make sound decisions
Ability to express thoughts orally
Strategic thinking and planning for growth
Ability to walk job sites and climb
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
