Responsibilities

Prepares and prepackages medication for subsequent administration to patients under the supervision of pharmacists
Enters prescription information and processes prescriptions in the computer
Assists in the orientation and training of new staff
Obtains all personal and insurance information from new customers and enters it into the computer
Takes prescription refill orders over the phone from customers
Collects monies owed for prescription retails sales or OTC sales
Straightens and inventories all over the counter medications and sundry items
Maintains appropriate records of medication dispensed
Helps in the reprocessing of rejected prescriptions

Qualification

Pharmacy Technician licenseRetail pharmacy experienceCustomer serviceTeamworkAttention to detail

Required

High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required
Requires valid State of Michigan Pharmacy Technician license

Preferred

Minimum of six (6) months of retail pharmacy experience preferred
