Controls Technician A

The Controls Technician A is responsible for performing maintenance tasks to ensure the proper operation of measuring and controlling equipment, including preventative and predictive maintenance.

Responsibilities

Ability to consulting diagrams and technical documentation such as schematics, manuals, standards and codes
Ability to install, configure, calibrate and maintain control, measurement and indicating instrumentation (pneumatic, analog & digital)
Ability to configure and program Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) and Programmable Automation Controllers (PAC)
Ability to install and terminate electrical, pneumatic and fluid connections
Ability to inspect and test the operation of instruments and systems to diagnose faults
Ability to remove, repair, adjust and replace components
Calibrating components and systems
Ability to assist Engineering in plant design, modification and hazard analysis
Ability to maintain various computer-based control systems
Ability to perform scheduled maintenance programs
Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC’s and Drives
Knowledge with 480V 3 phase circuits and familiarity with 4160V 3 phase systems
Knowledge in both AC and DC motor circuits
Ability to work Safely – alone and with others
Ability to Communicate – verbally and in writing
Ability to read drawings and schematics’
Ability to properly use hand and power tools and precision measuring equipment
Understanding of how to properly/safely use rigging and hoist equipment
Ability to operate mobile equipment
Must be able to work at heights above 20ft. (Aerial lifts)
WonderWare/RSView interface and MMI programming
Initializing and troubleshooting VFD motor drive
Instrumentation and calibration support and training for electricians including ownership of calibration methods
Set-up & initialization of monitoring & control devices
Instrumentations and controls debugging
Start-up and qualification of control systems on new equipment
Execute controls projects under the guidance of engineering
Troubleshoot electrical controls related process issues
Support production uptime efforts and root cause determination of downtime events

High School Diploma or equivalent
Five years related experience and/or training
