Maintenance Technician (Full-time)
YMCA of San Diego County is a community-focused organization dedicated to upholding Judeo-Christian principles. They are seeking a Facilities and Maintenance Technician responsible for maintaining the building and grounds, conducting safety inspections, and managing maintenance tasks across multiple branches.

Responsibilities
Responsible for maintaining equipment and providing a safe overall environment at home branch
Conduct inspections of all YMCA of Coastal Georgia facilities for safety and repair issues
Manages tasks electronically to include checking ticket system daily, checking and responding to email requests, and reconciling credit card purchases
Perform regular preventive maintenance on equipment as required
Maintain the appearance of the grounds including cutting grass and other landscaping work as needed
Repair equipment and facilities as needed, reporting as necessary to the Facilities & Maintenance Director to obtain additional assistance
Maintain records of inventory for facility equipment
At the direction of the Association Facilities and Maintenance Director, the maintenance technician oversees contractors and service contracts for local branch
Provide up-to-date and accurate records of equipment and materials for OSHA and MSDS
Provide for the proper storage and removal of necessary materials and substances
Assist in the overall retention and satisfaction of YMCA members through appropriate customer service
Assist in the Annual Campaign fundraising program for the YMCA
Maintain a positive and cheerful attitude with staff, peers, and program participants
Performs all other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Sound working knowledge of basic mechanical equipment functions
Ability to make general repairs as required
Must be able to perform basic computer tasks and navigate applications such as Outlook, Excel, Word and Truist for purchase card reconciliation
Ability to foster positive relations with staff, peers, and program participants
CPR and First Aid required within 30 days of employment
Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain authorization to work with children under the Georgia Department of Labor and YMCA guidelines
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage
Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
Ability to apply common sense understanding to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
Work at heights of up to 50 ft may be required
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
