Survey CAD Technician | Indianapolis, IN

They are seeking a CAD Technician to support their Survey team by utilizing CAD software to produce accurate and detailed drawings, maps, and plans, while collaborating with surveyors and engineers to ensure quality and completeness of work.

Responsibilities

Utilize CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) to create detailed drawings, maps, and plans based on survey data and specifications provided by the surveying team
Assist in the preparation of surveying documents including boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and construction staking plans
Collaborate with surveyors and engineers to ensure accuracy and completeness of drawings and plans
Calculate points and export alignments, surfaces, and DXF for construction staking
Interpret survey data, sketches, and field notes to accurately depict land features, boundaries, and structures
Maintain organized records of drawings and project files for future reference and revisions
Conduct quality control checks on drawings to ensure adherence to company standards and project requirements
Assist in the preparation of project deliverables and presentations for clients and stakeholders
Stay updated on CAD software advancements and industry best practices to enhance efficiency and productivity
Communicate regularly with field staff, project managers, and engineers
Work on several projects concurrently

Required

Associates Degree in Design Technology/CAD a plus
Previous experience working in a surveying or civil engineering environment preferred
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Excel and Word
Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately interpret survey data and specifications
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with surveyors, engineers, and other team members
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and meet project deadlines
Knowledge of land surveying principles and practices is desirable
