Commercial Refrigeration Technician

Responsibilities

Provides the highest level of customer service, technical ability, and quality to our customers
Installs, maintains, and repairs most standard refrigeration units for commercial customers such as reach-in coolers and freezers, beverage dispensers, walk-in coolers and freezers and rack units
Diagnoses and repairs electronic, mechanical, and electrical components of the commercial refrigeration systems
Travels to job sites in assigned service area and works with assigned Dispatcher(s) to ensure schedule is maintained and delays are properly communicated to customers
Available to work nights and weekends on a rotating basis to address emergency service needs for customer
Maintains good working order of company vehicle, including cleaning and organizing, and washing vehicle a minimum of once per week
Maintains proper stock, parts, tools, and safety equipment upon arrival, including make, model, serial number, type of fuel, and pictures as necessary
Document details of services and parts provided to customers electronically through company-provided cell phone and/or iPad applications
Diagnoses a variety of service issues, obtains necessary replacement parts, calibrates systems according to manufacturer specifications, and clearly communicates the issue(s) and recommended solutions to the client
Participates in company-provided training opportunities and adheres to all safety policies and procedures
Identifies and reports potential opportunities for additional business to management
Follow all environmental regulations, including the handling and disposal of refrigerants, in accordance with EPA guidelines
Other related duties as assigned

Required

Specific Industry Certification/License
EPA Certification
High school diploma or equivalent required
2+ Years of recent HVAC/R Technician field experience required
Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities
In-depth knowledge of refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical systems
Proficient in reading schematics, work plans, and using diagnostic tools, refrigerant recovery equipment, and specialized instruments
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Advanced understanding of air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration principles
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Highly dependable and consistent in delivering quality work
Enthusiastic, with strong integrity, craftsmanship, and a positive attitude
Basic computer skills for communication and documentation using iPads and/or cell phones
Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required
Ability to travel to assigned client sites
Commitment to delivering high levels of customer service consistently
Continuously requires vision, hearing, twisting, and/or talking
Able to alternate between standing, sitting, walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, kneeling, pushing/pulling, bending, and crouching
Able to operate an iPad, cell phone, computer and/or other office/work-related machinery
Able to stand for extended periods
Able to travel as needed on daily basis
Able to lift up to 100
Regularly requires climbing
Occasionally able to work in office environment, as needed
