Responsibilities
Utilize diagnostic scanners and other specialized tools to read fault codes, interpret data, and pinpoint malfunctioning components in engine, transmission, brakes, electrical systems, and other vehicle systems
Conduct thorough visual inspections of vehicle components to identify potential issues like worn parts, fluid leaks, and damage
Test drive vehicles to verify reported symptoms and assess the extent of problems
Perform specific tests on individual components like sensors, actuators, and electrical circuits to isolate the root cause of a malfunction
Develop repair plans based on diagnostic findings, including necessary parts and labor estimates
Perform repairs and replacements of faulty components according to manufacturer specifications
Explain diagnostic findings and repair recommendations to Service Advisor in a clear and understandable manner
Accurately document repair details on work orders, including parts used and time spent
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience as an Automotive Technician
Strong mechanical aptitude
Diagnostic software proficiency
Hand tool expertise
Problem-solving skills
Attention to detail
Communication skills
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and repair automotive issues
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and customer service skills
10 years of automotive repair (working for a shop)
English (Required)
Drivers license (Required)
Ability to Relocate: Everett, WA 98203: Relocate before starting work (Required)
Preferred
ASE certification preferred
Completion of an automotive service technician program or equivalent experience
ASE certification or equivalent experience preferred
