Field Service Technician II - Phoenix, AZ

Responsibilities

Perform start-up services, preventative and remedial maintenance, field modifications, and testing of power quality products
Provide technical support to internal and external customers, including third-party service organizations and end users
Inspect, test, and document failed products, components, and systems prior to their return to the factory, detailing defects and operational status
Schedule and provide on-call emergency technical support and field service
Partner with other MEPPI departments to identify solutions that improve performance and protection
Attend daily project meetings and contribute to team problem-solving
Identify, evaluate, and repair routine product failures; escalate non-routine issues to leadership as needed
Recommend service product offerings, such as battery upgrades, to support customers’ long-term maintenance goals
Resolve malfunctions to a board level in UPS systems with minimal guidance
Maintain service records and produce detailed documentation on the analysis, repair, and inspection of UPS and energy storage equipment
Guide less experienced technicians on troubleshooting and system failures
Submit accurate expense reports in accordance with company policies

Required

Associate degree in Electrical, Electronics, or related technical field, with 4 years of experience in troubleshooting and repairing technical, electrical, or electronic products—or equivalent education and experience
Intermediate knowledge of UPS products, services, and peripherals, including electrical equipment commonly used in data centers
Advanced knowledge and proficiency with mechanical and electronic test equipment, including operation, data collection, and reporting
Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities to diagnose and resolve complex issues
OSHA-10 Construction and NFPA-70E certification
Advanced interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills to effectively collaborate with customers, employees, and suppliers
Ability to read and interpret detailed equipment schematics and facility one-line drawings; basic knowledge of communication and networking protocols
Advanced computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office products and MRP/ERP systems
