Vet Technician, Credentialed

Community Veterinary Partners is seeking a Credentialed Veterinary Technician at Dundee Animal Hospital to support veterinarians in delivering exceptional medical care to animal patients. Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and medical procedures by preparing equipment and restraining animals safely
Perform laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and cytology to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning
Administer prescribed medications, vaccinations, and treatments under veterinary supervision
Monitor anesthesia and vital signs during surgical procedures to ensure patient safety
Maintain accurate medical records and update patient charts with observations and treatment details
Educate pet owners on post-operative care, medication administration, and general animal health maintenance
Manage inventory of medical supplies and ensure cleanliness and sterilization of instruments and work areas
Collaborate with the veterinary team to develop and implement patient care plans

Required

Completion of an accredited Veterinary Technician program
Current credentialing as a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT), Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), or Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) as required by state regulations
Strong understanding of animal anatomy, physiology, and common medical conditions
Experience with laboratory procedures, anesthesia monitoring, and surgical assistance
Excellent communication skills for interacting with veterinarians, staff, and pet owners

Preferred

Previous experience working in a veterinary hospital or clinical setting
Certification in specialized areas such as anesthesia, dentistry, or emergency care
Familiarity with veterinary practice management software
Ability to handle a variety of animal species including exotic pets
Continuing education or professional development courses related to veterinary technology
