Avionics/Aircraft Assembly & Build Technician UAS

They are seeking a talented and self-motivated Avionics/Aircraft Assembly & Build Technician UAS to assist in building and testing advanced aircraft technologies. The role involves hands-on assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and collaboration with a team to ensure high-quality standards in aircraft assembly and operations.

Responsibilities
Build and Assembly: Demonstrated proficiency performing hands-on assembly of mechanical and electrical components according to engineering blueprints, schematics, and work instructions. Demonstrated proficiency with machine/hands tools (laser cutter, water cutter, CNC mills, various hand tools
Testing and quality assurance: Conducting pre-flight, post-flight, and quality-control checks to ensure the drone operates correctly and meets all performance standards. This may involve operating test equipment like circuit testers and multimeters
Troubleshooting and repair: Diagnosing and repairing hardware and software malfunctions. This includes replacing or adjusting electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic components
Software and electronics: Installing, configuring, and updating firmware and software packages for flight control systems. This often involves hand soldering PCBs (Printed Circuit Boards) and wiring. Follows proper ESD precautions
Flight operations: Assisting with system-level testing activities and conducting test flights to validate performance and tune systems
Documentation: Completing work orders, test reports, and maintenance logs. Technicians also help document and refine assembly instructions and test procedures
Inventory and equipment management: Keeping track of parts and equipment and ensuring tools and test equipment are checked and maintained
Collaboration: Working with a team of other technicians and engineers to improve product quality and resolve assembly challenges
Qualification
Required
Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate)
General knowledge of hand tools
Be able to understand and follow written and verbal instruction
Valid Driver's License required and ability to obtain airport access card
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Access)
Must be a US Person
Preferred
Education and training: An associate degree or certification in electronics
2 to 5 years experience
Technical knowledge: Strong understanding of electronics, mechanical systems, and software integration
Hands-on experience: Experience with hardware assembly, using hand and power tools, and soldering. Fine motor skills Assembly a must. proficiency with machine/hands tools (laser cutter, water cutter, CNC mills, various hand tools
Problem-solving abilities: Excellent skills in diagnostics and troubleshooting hardware and software issues
Attention to detail: Meticulous approach to work to ensure high-quality standards and accuracy in assembly
Communication skills: Strong verbal and written communication for documenting work, creating procedures, and collaborating with team members
Regulatory knowledge: Understanding of aviation regulations and safety standards, especially the FAA Part 107 certification for drone operations
Adaptability: The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects concurrently
