Solar Operations & Maintenance Technician II
Onward Energy is an independent power platform that operates utility-scale renewable energy projects across the U.S. They are seeking a Solar Operations & Maintenance Technician II to be responsible for the maintenance and operation of utility scale PV power plants, ensuring safety and quality in all maintenance activities.

Responsibilities
Ensure the highest level of health and safety practices
Ensure a safe work environment by strict adherence to company protocols
Attend, participate in and pass all assigned training in safety, environmental and other areas as assigned
Responsible for personal safety, quality, and schedule adherence
Comply with Job Hazard Analysis, Pre-Job Brief and Lock-Out-Tag-Out procedures
Understanding of electrical safety and arc flash standards
Ability to create and follow operating, switching, maintenance, safety, and environmental procedures
Knowledge of local and national electrical codes
Proficient understanding of Electrical schematics and electrical principles
Ability to perform testing, switching and troubleshooting of low, medium, and high voltage equipment, including transformers, breakers, relays, contactors, motors, trackers, DC array and inverters to name a few
Capable of retrieving relay files and submitting to engineering for review
Assist in planning and executing on-site projects, installations, commissioning, quality inspections, and performance testing
Assist with writing and enforcing work and equipment testing instructions and procedures, including normal and maintenance operating procedures
Ensure CMMS work orders are complete in their entirety. Prepare documents necessary for procurement and utilization of materials and vendor services
Perform testing using IV Curve Tracers, Power Quality Meters, Insulation Resistance Testers, Multimeters, and other equipment, as needed
Keep track of quality, quantity, and stock levels of all materials on the sites
Proven computer skills in a Windows environment (Microsoft Office Products) are required
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects
Self-directed and accountable, able to think critically about processes and issues
Maintain the Plant’s vegetation requirements; by use of mechanical and or chemical in accordance with site regulations
Communicate cross-functionally across all necessary parts of the organization to achieve resolution to plant issues
Maintain work area and site housecleaning to company standards
Must be available for night, overtime, weekend, and holiday work as required
May be required to support job responsibilities as needed outside of scheduled work hours
Occasional travel may be required

Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED required
Two (2) years of work experience in operations and/or maintenance in power generation, transmission and/or distribution
Must have a safety background with experience in Lockout Tag Out and Job Hazard Analysis
Excellent writing and verbal skills
Valid U.S. Driver license with acceptable MVR history
Proficient understanding of Electrical schematics and electrical principles
Ability to perform testing, switching and troubleshooting of low, medium, and high voltage equipment, including transformers, breakers, relays, contactors, motors, trackers, DC array and inverters to name a few

Preferred
College or technical degree preferred
Experience in operating and maintaining power plant electrical systems, SCADA and controls systems operation, troubleshooting advanced electrical components, and using procedures to perform equipment preventative and corrective maintenance preferred
Familiar with CMMS systems for maintenance tracking
Some intermediate level of technical knowledge of PV Inverters and tracking systems
