Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking a full time Sterile Processing Technician or Sterile Processing Trainee for the Sterile Processing department. The role involves collecting, cleaning, decontaminating, disinfecting, and sterilizing surgical instruments and medical devices to ensure a sterile supply of materials and equipment.

Responsibilities

Collects, cleans, decontaminates, disinfects and/or sterilizes surgical instruments, trays and packs, reusable medical devices and patient care equipment according to established standards and procedures to ensure sterile and functioning supply of materials and equipment

Engaged in trainee duties that may lead to the full performance level of a Sterile Processing Technician

Qualification

Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST)Certified Sterile ProcessingDistribution Technician (CSPDT)Sterile processing experienceBasic computer skillsCommunication skills

Required

Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from IAHCSMM (International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management); or

Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD); or

An equivalent certification from a nationally accredited central service technician credentialing organization recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center

High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma

Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices

High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma for Sterile Processing Technician Trainee

Incumbents must obtain certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from IAHCSMM (International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management); or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD); or an equivalent certification from a nationally accredited central service technician credentialing organization recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center within one (1) year of appointment to this title as a condition of continued employment
