ALB - FACILITIES MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
Avports is involved in airport operations and maintenance, and they are seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician. The role involves repairing and maintaining various facility systems at Albany International Airport, including assisting with HVAC systems and training other maintenance personnel.

Responsibilities
Provides assistance and back-up to the General Maintenance Mechanic as necessary. Strives to increase skill levels by taking instruction and training from the General Maintenance Mechanic
Assists in training and provides Hands-on assistance to the various classifications of workers, technicians and mechanics in the Facility Maintenance Department and to airport tenants as required
Provides the Superintendent with sufficient information to order equipment and supplies
Assists HVAC Mechanics and Technicians in the repair and maintenance of HVAC systems as requested by HVAC Mechanic
Assists in the development and monitoring of preventive maintenance schedules of various facility systems including but not limited to jetways, bag belts and miscellaneous door configurations
Assists in the preparation of reports, logs and other communications as requested
Assists in the coordination of the activities of other facility maintenance personnel and participates in snow removal operations
Participate in Total Quality Management programs
May be required to perform any other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Three year's experience with general knowledge of various building maintenance systems as they pertain to the systems at the Albany International Airport
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, vendors and or employees of the organization
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw or graph
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Must possess a valid New York State Driver's License as a condition of employment
The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear
The employee is frequently required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and smell
The employee is occasionally required to sit
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
