R+L Carriers is seeking a Safety Hazmat Technician for their Milwaukee, WI service center. The Hazmat Technician will perform tasks related to emergency response, hazardous materials clean-up, and equipment decontamination while ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities

Lead safety in all aspects of emergency response, including following R+L procedures, properly containerizing waste/re-use products, and completing safety documentation, and upholding R+L’s high level of safety

Experience operating tools applicable to emergency response activities

Set up and participate in live training events to ensure the competency of personnel

Audit incoming/outgoing hazardous materials shipments for compliance

Ability and willingness to coach co-workers on unsafe behaviors observed

Willing to participate in specialized scheduled projects as required

Physically fit; able to lift 75 lbs

Able to thrive in a high-pressure and fast-paced team-supported environment

Work effectively and communicate with team members and other departments

Inform the management team of issues that arise on jobs in a timely manner

Update job notes daily

Competent in Microsoft Office applications such as, but not limited to, Excel, Word, and Outlook

Exceptional interpersonal skills, customer service, and problem-solving skills

Proven ability to work in a confidential capacity

Ability to handle multiple tasks, while being detail oriented
