Service Technician - Air Supplied Products

Responsibilities

Perform routine inspections and functional checks of 3M/Scott Safety SCBA and SCBA-related equipment to verify their readiness and compliance with safety regulations and standards
Conduct maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on 3M/Scott Safety SCBA and SCBA-related equipment, replacing worn or damaged components to ensure proper functionality
Conduct tests on Scott/3M SCBA units, such as pressure tests, airflow tests, and leak tests, to verify that they meet or exceed manufacturer specifications and industry standards
Maintain detailed records of all inspection, maintenance, and repair activities, including equipment condition, parts replaced, and testing results
Calibrate and adjust SCBA equipment to ensure accurate readings and safe operation
Train end-users and other personnel on the proper use, care, and maintenance of SCBA equipment
Manage spare parts and replacement components inventory, ensuring adequate stock for repairs and maintenance
Stay current with safety regulations and industry standards for SCBA equipment and ensure that all equipment meets Scott/3M standards
Interact with customers and end-users, addressing their concerns and assisting with equipment-related issues

Required

High school diploma or equivalent
Sound computer skills are essential
REAL-ID card is required for this position for travel and access to federal sites/buildings
Physical fitness and the ability to lift and carry SCBA equipment (up to 50 lbs.) are required
Driver's License (Required)

Preferred

Prior experience in servicing and maintaining SCBA equipment is highly desirable but not required
Additional technical training or certification related to SCBA equipment maintenance and repair is preferred but not required
Knowledge of safety regulations, NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) standards, and manufacturer-specific guidelines for SCBA equipment, preferably Scott/3M
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under deadlines
Attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality
Good communication skills for interacting with customers and colleagues
Mechanically inclined
Experience in servicing and maintaining HVAC equipment/systems
Experience in servicing and maintaining Small engine repair
Experience in servicing and maintaining Firefighting equipment
Experience in servicing and maintaining Hydraulics
Experience in servicing and maintaining Cabling
Experience in servicing and maintaining Vehicles
Experience in servicing and maintaining Electrical
Mechanical knowledge: 3 years (Preferred)
Field Service Technician: 3 years (Preferred)
