Tower Technician I

MasTec Communications Group is focused on building for the future and expanding technology for better communities. As a Tower Technician I, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and operating various telecommunications equipment while ensuring safety and quality service.

Construction

Responsibilities

Understand and implement MasTec Communications Group (MNS) Health Safety and Environmental Policies (Safety Manual)
Understand and implement Industry standards (OSHA, TIA10-48, NATE CTS, and ANSI)
Climb towers and ladders at various heights
Conduct erection of various tower types
Off-load material and inventory
Prepare and cleaning of sites
Install new carriers on new build and existing towers
Assist in tower erection using helicopters, cranes, and gin poles
Assist in the assembly of the monopole, all weld and knock down self-support and guyed towers
Assist in the antenna installation of microwave parabolic 1 to 15-foot, VHF, UHF, cellular, and FM broadcast antennas
Assist in the transmission line and installation of foam/air dielectric coaxial, hardline, and elliptical waveguide
Assist in the installation of all aspects of ell site foundations, grounding, and conduits, with electrical installations where applicable
Complete other duties as assigned

Required

High School Degree, or equivalent, with 8 years of experience
Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions per prints
Working knowledge of safety standards and regulations
Ability to climb towers, be able to pick up 50 lbs., and be capable of working up to 12 hours
Valid driver's license and driving record meeting the company policy conditions
Available to work weekends and/or nights, in extreme weather conditions if necessary
Ability and willingness to travel extensively, as required for job related functions
Ability to work out of the market or away from home as work demands

Preferred

Possession of a NWSA certification is a plus
