Patient Care Technician, (PCT) Adjunct Instructor

Responsibilities

Instruction including hands on and theory, classroom management, and administrative tasks that may include reports, syllabus and lesson plan development
Prepare and/or maintain current course syllabi for course taught
Ensure course is taught in accordance with the established syllabus
Assess the accomplishment of students on a regular basis
Maintain records of student attendance, grades, and progress
Direct supervision of students in a variety of clinical settings
Recommend for approval adequate instructional materials for course
Work with other areas of the college such as Tutoring, Retention, etc. to help ensure student success
Recommend adequate laboratory facilities/equipment for assigned course
Attend relevant professional meetings
Represent the College positively in interactions with the community and with professional and academic groups at local, state, and national levels
Maintain frequent communication with PCT program faculty (or course coordinators)

Required

Associate degree (Nursing)
At least two (2) years of RN experience including at least one (1) year of experience in long-term care nursing services or care of elderly within the last five years
Active, unencumbered SC RN license
Current American Heart Association Provider CPR (Adult & Child)
Must meet all requirements for clinical participation per clinical facility

Preferred

Previous teaching or training experience preferred but not required
At least two (2) years of recent practical experience with venipuncture and specimen collection and/or electrocardiogram in a clinical setting
Current American Heart Association Instructor CPR (Adult & Child)
