Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) is a strategic insurance partner providing a range of commercial property, casualty, and specialty insurance coverages. The Underwriting Technician will support the underwriting team in the Transactional Liability sector, handling tasks related to underwriting and policy issuance processes, including data management and reporting.

Responsibilities

Capture submission and policy data and prepare reports for Underwriters
Build electronic files and ensure file integrity
Support underwriters with all activities related to account management
Coordinate policy issuance and liaise with Operations team
Correspond with brokers; follow up on outstanding information
Act as a liaison to the Operations Group

Required

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong working knowledge of Excel for data management and reporting
Proven attention to detail

Strong willingness to learn
BA/BS degree or equivalent experience

Preferred

1-3 years commercial insurance experience
